We’re delighted to share that the fourth edition of our Run for Autism event, held on Sunday, April 6th, was an incredible success! We are immensely proud of how far the event has come—both in its purpose and its growing impact. This year, we welcomed over 3,500 runners from 28 different countries, a testament to the event’s rising popularity and international reach.
At its heart, the event is about more than just running. It’s a powerful platform for raising awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and promoting greater inclusion across the island for individuals on the spectrum. The event is completely volunteer-organised by people who share a passion for running and making a difference, proudly supporting Autism Support Famagusta, and specifically the Smile Project. The Smile Project helps individuals on the autism spectrum develop skills for greater independence, while giving families much-needed support. Every cent raised goes directly to the charity — something we’re incredibly proud of!
This cause is especially close to Trish’s heart. She’s been deeply involved in the organisation and sponsorship of the event since day one. Watching it grow from a fairly small race into an international event with thousands of participants has been an amazing journey — and we’re just getting started!
The atmosphere on the day was electric — from the buzzing crowds, food and drink stands, music, DJs, and a big race countdown, to the children’s races that made the event so family-friendly. It’s a celebration of community, inclusion, fitness, and kindness — all wrapped into one unforgettable day.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, participated, or came along to show their support—you made this event truly special. We are deeply grateful!
We sincerely hope the event will continue to grow in the years ahead, allowing Autism Support Famagusta to expand its vital work supporting individuals with autism and their families.
