Relocating to Cyprus

Thinking of Relocating to Cyprus?

Are you considering a move to Cyprus? Whether you’re seeking a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle, business opportunities, or an escape to year-round sunshine, Cyprus offers an exceptional quality of life. With beautiful landscapes boasting stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, scenic mountains, and picturesque villages and over 300 days of sunshine per year, it is an ideal destination for those who enjoy outdoor living. But the weather and isn’t the only reason to call this wonderful island home. In this guide, we’ll explore why you should relocate to Cyprus and how to do it seamlessly.

Excellent Healthcare System

The modern patient-centric healthcare system in Cyprus, Gesy, is available to all residents and those paying in to the system (with some additions dependant on status). Similar to the NHS, Gesy works on a contribution basis, with social insurance contributions going towards the healthcare system and allowing free or heavily subsidised healthcare. Those registered on the system will have access to a personal doctor, outpatient specialists, gynaecology, A&E, dentistry, ambulance services and pharmacies. Doctors here are educated to a high standard and appointments are extremely accessible with no long wait times, as is often the case in other countries throughout Europe.

Favourable Tax System

Cyprus is known for its attractive tax benefits, including low corporate tax rates (12.5%), no inheritance tax, and various incentives for expatriates and foreign investors. These benefits make it a desirable location for entrepreneurs, digital nomads, and retirees.

Education

Cyprus offers a great selection of top-tier educational institutions across the island. Families can choose between Greek or English-speaking facilities, ranging from nursery to university level, with both state schools and private international institutions.

Low Crime

Cyprus has an exceptionally low crime rate and is noted as one of the safest places to live in the world, particularly for women and children. It is this reason many expats come to the island and choose to live here permanently. It's the kind of place where people still leave their doors unlocked, and if you forget your phone somewhere, chances are it’ll still be there when you go back.

With a low crime rate, excellent healthcare system, and a high standard of living, Cyprus is one of the safest and most comfortable places to live in Europe. The cost of living is relatively affordable compared to other EU countries, especially when it comes to real estate and daily expenses.
